Kandha Kottai – Review

Production : ESK Films, AGS Entertainment
Direction : Sakthivel S
Star-casts : Nakul, Poorna, Santhanam, Sampath and others
Music : Dheena

Nakul’s both the earlier films ‘Kadhalil Vizhundhen’ and ‘Maasilamani’ proved to be winning films at box office. Of course, Sun Pictures had exposed the film with greater magnitude thereby increasing the reputation.
But this time, Nakul seems to have geared up for a comparable style of ‘Maasilamani’ which fails to impress any centers.

The film is about beating the same bush where hero doesn’t consider in love and later falls for a girl and saves her from the dilemma.

The film is about Siva (Nakul), who has a great odium for love and those who’re in love (the personality itself reveals about it in the introduction part). On the contrary, Pooja (Poorna) does Vijay ‘Shahjahan’ here as she is ready for any risks to unite the couples in love. These characters encounter each other when Siva’s sister Girija and Poorn’a cousin boy are in love.

Afterward Siva develops a great sympathy for Pooja and falls in love with her and so she does. But the confusion strikes when Pooja rejects her friend’s proposal. insufferable to her denial, he commits suicides and his father (Sampath) sets out to retaliate for the closer ones of Pooja.

Now our hero gets into the picture and wins over the bad character, joining hands with his belle.
The film has nothing to be grateful for. Nakul follows the same patterned performance as in his previous film. Naturally, he’s a good dancer and the song ‘Eppadi Ennul’ he crooned is a feet-tapping number. But it’s annoying to watch him fighting against large rowdies.

The viewers are expecting something worth for the money they pay.

Poorna on the other hand over blindly imitates Asin with her gestures, facial expressions, which in no way set of clothes of her. We kindly request Poorna to have a better makeover and costume designing and don’t try glamour.

Santhanam cannot afford something different other than passing funny comments, sometimes even awkward.

Dheena’s musical score doesn’t catch-up our concentration while cinematography is okay.

Finally, with a big ticket having hit the screens this weekend, ‘Kandha Kottai’ has no probabilities of get it going successful at box office. Nakul has to adapt a lot when it comes to choosing the script that has content value.

Vijay plays the role of an auto driver in the film. His role reminds us of superstar Rajinikanth, who played the role of an auto driver in the batter Baasha. Actress Anuskha, Arundhati celebrity, plays the role of a medical college scholar.

Vettaikaran’s story is based in unwanted an element that needs to be removed from the society and the country. Who other than Vijay can fit in such a role? One by one he removes all those unwanted elements. Meanwhile he falls in love with Anushka, who comes from a middle class family. Both share a great chemistry, whether it’s fighting or romancing. Sorry to Vijay fan's....

Here is the typical review got from my friend....

Nice to see say hi to all. Here I would like to trouble you all with below. Please forgive me.

After 2/3 three failure attempts my roommate managed to take me for the film Vijay's Vettaikaran. I was concluded that Vijay was not aware of any funny messages about him which floating around. He is doing perfectly what he always to without disappointing everyone.

Movie was started with intro of encounter specialist police officer who the role model of our hero "Police Ravi"(yes that is the name of Vijay) and finishing up with action introduction of Police Ravi with song. People laughing for all punch dialogues and sentiment dialogues which they heard million times from Tamil cinema.

Big part you have to tolerate is Mr. Police Ravi will be waiting for his 4th attempt +2 results and he got to join college after that. If Vijay continuing this form of performance then Vadivelu , Vivek and other comedians has to look for other option then acting in film. Characteristics of villan's will make you to say "Enna Villathanam" but its very typical in Vijay movies. I don’t understand one logic the villans looking for Mr. Police Ravi badly to kill him but they never do that when he is easily available to them. Also no Gun available to them when they really need and no gun found in the world yet to blow Dr. Vijay. Enough about Vijay we will move on....

Anuksha is making your money worth by playing typical heroine role in Vijay movie. Nothing else to say..

Salim Ghouse(Mail Villan) is exceptional performance was impressive in second half of the movie with repeated dialogue "Vethanayagam'na Payam (Fear)".

VIjay Anthony was rocking with his usual item numbers. Vijay performance for that will make you go for smoke.

Director Babusivan has no other way to make movie with vijay, the debut director carrier in risk.

Overall typical Vijay movie formula Fight-song-fight-song-fight-song .... fight. between this u got romance and punch dialogues.

What you looking for yet, oh rating (start)... Romba kusumbu sir ungalukku ...

Vettaikaran – watch it in TV if the Vijay TV’s Kalakapovathu yaru episode is not good and thumbs down for director Babusivan and feel sorry for him.
